M20S is a solvent-free product, based on MDI, containing isomers and oligomers. The functionality is approximately 2.7

Applications
M20S is suitable for the production of rigid cellular polyurethanes by molding, spraying or frothing. It is used for semi-flexible foams in car manufacture and sound insulation as well as for integral skin foams, high resiliency flexible foams, packing foams, sealants, adhesives and binders.

Delivery
The delivery is by tankers and in non-returnable drum of 250Kg capacity or 1MT barrels. If delivered in road tankers, temperature during transport should be maintained between 15ºC and 35ºC. If delivered in drums, extreme cold shocks and storing in direct sunlight should be avoided.

Storage
M20S must be protected from moisture. The ideal storage temperature is 15 to 35ºC. Under these conditions and when moisture is excluded, the shelf life of M20S is at least 6 months. Drums must be kept airtight. Storage tanks should be blanketed with dry air or with nitrogen.

Longer storage leads to a lasting increase of viscosity depending on the temperature. In extreme cases a precipitate may form which will not be removed by heating.

If the product becomes cold the viscosity will increase. This may lead to problems in
processing. Storage for longer periods below -5ºC can lead to partial crystallization.

Crystallized material should be melted out immediately by short term heating. The product temperature must not exceed 70ºC. Local overheating must be avoided, because the product will be destroyed at temperature above 230ºC with consequent gas production.Rolling of the drums in a hot air oven is the recommended method of dissolving the crystals.After melting out, the contents of the drum must be thoroughly mixed.

Labelling, transportation, storage, processing, waste treatment and disposal must comply with nation regulations. Occupational exposure limits are to be observed.

M20S is classified as harmful by inhalation. It is irritating to the eyes, respiratory system and skin. It may cause sensitization by inhalation and skin contact.

In order to avoid accidents the residual product in the drums must be handled with care.Any water or moisture which is allowed to enter the drum will react with M20S and release carbon dioxide. Unless action is taken to prevent moisture entry or gas entrapment, the drums will become pressurized and could rupture.

If it is intended to use isocyanate materials for the manufacture of consumer goods (e.g. products which will come into contact with foodstuffs or with the skin, toy, etc.) or medical products, national and international regulations have to be observed.
